Zootropolis

Back in Cardiff for the Easter weekend and back in Cineworld..
I had a toss up between BatmanVsuperman (again) or something new and I went for something new.. Zootropolis.
This is your typical, animated kids fare. Set erm... somewhere, we find animals of all shapes and sizes living together in perfect harmony (not unlike the keys on a piano keyboard).. All the animals dress like humans and also have regular jobs. Into this comes a rabbit who wants to be a police officer and against all odds passes through Police Academy and ends up going to Zootropolis..

It had performed well in America and that was one of the reasons I thought I'd give it a go. The animation was superb (to be expected these days) and you really felt like you'd like to visit Zootropolis. As with most animated movies these days they'd thrown in a few jokes and references for the adults. But not enough for my liking. Jason Bateman and Idris Alba were the only two voices I recognised and was surprised to see J.K.Simmons was amongst them too.
The film was a bit too long for my liking but overall it wasn't a struggle..

An entertaining ***.
