It was this or the Muppets. And as I'd heard good reports about this I thought I'd give it a go.
The basic synopsis is this. Daniel Radcliffe plays a widower working for a law firm and he's charged with attending to the last will and testament of a recently deceased women. And all manor of spooky goings on occur...
I enjoyed this. It reminded me of 'The Others' with the period and attention to detail. Very Gothic, which I liked. Also the wind up toys freaked me out a bit. I could see why there was an issue with the certification. I think the general tone was more 15 than 12a.

I haven't seen a good sci-fi in ages and was sort of looking forward to this one. I'd heard mixed reports and financially it has bombed (spectacularly in America!)
Turns out it wasn't that bad... really. You got the usual 'Tharks' and 'Heliums' vs the 'Nards' or something, which is the norm regarding Sci-fi and that didn't bother me. I mean most people seemed to accept 7ft Blue Aliens in 'Avatar' didn't they.
Visually it was enjoyable and you could see most of the budget was up there on the screen. Unfortunately the characters and story line let it down. But overall it wasn't that bad.
